The Masks We Wear is a transformative mixed media workshop that delves deep into the layers of identity, protection, and self-presentation unique to Black women. In this safe and nurturing space, participants gain a profound understanding and cultivate compassion for the masks we often wear. These masks are not merely disguises but layers of protection, shields we use to navigate spaces that may not always embrace our true selves.

We recognize the weight of the shame that sometimes accompanies the necessity of wearing these masks, for they can lead to a fragmented sense of self. Questions arise: Who are we beneath the layers? To whom can we reveal our authentic selves, and why do we choose concealment in certain contexts?
